CANDIDS: Drunken Evan Ross Gets CARRIED Out The Club + Christina Milian Shops For Shoes + Venus Williams Shops With Mom
[info]alastairble3

Evan Ross was spotted getting carried out the club last night.  By the paparazzi.  Interesting.  Pics inside, plus pics of Christina Milian & Venus Williams shopping it up....

Evan clearly was on lean after leaving Teddy's nightclub in L.A. last night.

The ATL actor was carried from the club by the paparazzi.  Who I'm sure thanked him handsomely for the close-up pics.  What's really going on here Evan?

Elsewhere in L.A.:

Christina Milian and her sister were spotted shopping it up at Fred Segal:

Chris looked super cute in her slacks and floral purse.

And perfect skin.  Ugh.

"The Voice" social media star just wrapped the season last night as a winner was finally crowned.

And over in Madrid, Spain:

Tennis star Venus Williams was spotted out on a shopping trip with her pup and her mom Oracene.

Awww.

I'm pretty sure this "dress" is from her own Eleven collection....but I'm just not feeling it.  The pro was in the Spanish city for the Mutua Madrid Open.

Johnny Depp Drawn To 'Reluctant Vampire' In 'Dark Shadows'
[info]alastairble3

Actor especially enjoyed placing the 'hyper-elegant figure from the late 18th century into one of the weirdest times of all time.'
By Kara Warner

Those familiar with the work of Johnny Deppare likely aware of his penchant for exploring characters who are quirky and misunderstood — so his decision to take on the role of conflicted vampire Barnabas Collins in "Dark Shadows" is not at all surprising.

The Tim Burton-directed family melodrama is an adaptation of the popular TV soap opera of the same name, which began airing in the late 1960s and interested Depp not just because he was a fan of the show and had always dreamed of playing a vampire, but because this particular vampire never wanted to be one in the first place and has to learn how to exist in the strange and curious setting of the 1970s.

"Playing a kind of reluctant vampire, in a sense, the reluctant vampire who has been locked in a box for 200 years and his misfortune to be let out in an age when things are probably at their most surreal in terms of 1972," Depp explained of why Barnabas is more interesting than your average fictional bloodsucker. "It's a very odd period. Things are changing radically; the sort of peace and love thing was over with, and we were rapidly approaching disco, so musically and aesthetically, that was the fun of it, to place this hyper-elegant figure from the late 18th century into one of the weirdest times of all time."

Depp's conflicted Barnabas is supported by an equally strange cast of characters played by Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Chloë Moretz, Jackie Earle Haley and Jonny Lee Miller, who all relished the opportunity to camp and vamp up for a cause — not that the film is a straight comedy, by any means.

"It's a funny film for me, because I never considered it a comedy," Burton said. "I was always trying to capture the weird vibe of 'Dark Shadows,' which is a weird thing to try to capture. It was a weird daytime soap opera. ... It's not like I'm being campy with it or anything," Burton said. "The guy's been locked in a box for 200 years, and [when] he comes out ... something weird is going to happen."

How 'Avengers' Assembled A Truly Incredible Hulk
[info]alastairble3

Joss Whedon 'knew exactly the [kind of] Hulk he wanted to bring to the big screen,' VFX supervisor Jeff White tells MTV News.
By Josh Wigler

Hate to break it to you, Dr. Banner, but $200 million and counting doesn't lie: They really, really like you when you're angry.

As "Marvel's The Avengers" approaches its second weekend in theaters with an eye toward furthering its historic box-office total, the fans tuning in for repeat viewings are likely coming back for the same reason: the green monstrosity known as the Hulk. Despite two previous movies with few to no fans to speak of, Hulk has emerged as the breakout star of the Marvel Studios superhero team-up, begging the question: How did director Joss Whedon and his team crack the code? What did they do to finally give fans a big-screen Jade Giant worth rooting for?

Having worked overtime on creating a more than worthwhile Hulk, "Avengers" visual effects mastermind Jeff White has plenty of thoughts on what made the character work this time around — chief among those reasons, the vision of Whedon himself.

"It was important to deliver on the performance that Joss was looking for," White told MTV News about why Hulk works in "Avengers." "He knew exactly the Hulk he wanted to bring to the big screen. All of the great moments Hulk has in the film was Joss really guiding us there."

Key to Whedon's vision was Mark Ruffalo, the Oscar-nominated actor who took on the role previously occupied by Edward Norton in "The Incredible Hulk." Unlike Norton, who only played Hulk's human counterpart, Ruffalo provided the motion-capture for "the other guy," allowing viewers to connect with the human side of the gamma-irradiated creature in a deeper way than ever before.

"That was a great design decision that Joss made early on: He wanted to see Mark Ruffalo in the design, and that was great for us, because that meant we could work with Mark," said White, who described the actor as "incredibly generous" throughout the Hulk creation process.

"We spent a lot of time capturing Mark's skin and his hair and every pore detail that he has," White elaborated on how Ruffalo provided the foundation for the Hulk. "We actually did a life-cast of him as part of capturing all of that. So starting every shot from something real — and because Mark did a performance for every shot — we could then capture that performance and apply it to our Mark Ruffalo digital double, and make sure we were getting the right performance to translate onto the Hulk. That's where an amazing amount of animation has to come in, in order to get that same performance from Mark onto the Hulk."

But another reason why the green monster worked so well this time around, ironically enough, was because he was less green and less monstrous.

"There were good design decisions made in terms of, he's desaturated color-wise, which helps him fit in with the Avengers much better. He's not super muscly all the time, either. Joss wanted us to go for a bit more of a wrestler aesthetic instead of just being super cut," White explained. "What's great about that is that when he does jump around and start smashing everything, we really have somewhere to go in terms of flexing the muscles and popping the veins."

In the end, Hulk flourished in "Avengers" for the same reason the movie worked so well on the whole: a combination of fantastic visual effects, strong performances, and clear creative vision from Whedon and Marvel Studios.

"It's not just one thing you can point to, but a series of very good decisions in terms of Joss and Marvel's approach to the Hulk this time," said White. "For one, I think Joss really knows the kind of action that people want to see the Hulk do. That shot of him slamming Loki was in there right from the beginning. It's phenomenal. People love it. That scene was there right from the very beginning. I think that was the key. And casting with Mark Ruffalo, and how much he worked with us in terms of the performance of the character and all of the textural details."

"With 'Avengers,' there were so many things to get right," he continued. "But everything we put into it, we knew the film would be judged by the success of the Hulk, so we're really happy that people are excited about it."

What do you think of the Hulk? Sound off in the comments section below!

Reese Witherspoon's Mom Sues Her Dad for Bigamy

Reese Witherspoon's Mom Sues Her Dad for Bigamy

Reese Witherspoon is on maternity leave from making movies, but she's got plenty of drama going on at home. In a very strange legal battle, Reese's mother, Betty Witherspoon, 60, has sued Reese's father, John Witherspoon, 70, for bigamy, USA Today reports. It seems that Reese's dad recently married another woman... while neglecting the fact that he's still married to Betty!

According to a paid wedding announcement published last month in The Tennessean, John Witherspoon married a woman named Tricianne Taylor on Jan. 16. The newspaper described a Texas-themed ceremony ("cowboy boots and yellow roses accented the ambiance"), with the 60-year-old bride dressed in a sequin-accented ivy grown and the groom in a white linen suit.

Pretty as the wedding may have been, it wasn't legal, because John never got a divorce from Betty, from whom he's been separated since 1996. In the lawsuit she filed, Reese's mom said that she still loves her husband and wants to keep the marriage intact. She also expressed concern that John is suffering early onset dementia -- which, coupled with an alcohol problem and other issues, means he may not have the faculties to understand what he did.

"When I confronted my husband, he said he didn't know who Tricianne Taylor was and that he did not remember getting married," Betty said in an affidavit.

Furthermore, Betty wrote her husband's new wife a letter explaining that he was already married, with two children and four grandchildren -- and got no response. Betty expressed concern in the court filing that Taylor, who by now knows that her marriage is not legal, is trying to use John to get to Reese's money. Allegedly, Taylor is already living in a condo owned by Reese, and has made changes to John's will.

"I also fear for my husband's personal safety and the safety of my family," said Betty, who wants the marriage annulled and Taylor to return any gifts John has give her.

It's important to note that Reese's parents have not lived together in more than 15 years; Betty claims that she moved out because of her husband's "alcoholism, infidelity, overspending and hoarding."

Another fact worth considering: John didn't exactly try to hide his romance with Tricianne Taylor. They applied for their first marriage license a year ago, and John even tried to bring his girlfriend as a guest to Reese's 2011 wedding to Jim Toth.

"The security officers at the wedding refused to let her in because she was not on the guest list," said the affidavit. (Sounds like she may have been on a "do not let this person in whatever you do" list, though.)

Meanwhile, while the scandal is unfolding, John and Betty are expecting their fifth grandchild. News of Reese's third pregnancy (her first with new husband Toth) broke in March. She has not commented on her parents' court battle.

Ashanti Gets Interviewed By Her Momager Tina + Lark Voorhies REVISITS "Saved By The Bell" Memories
[info]alastairble3

R&B songstress Ashanti sat down for a recent interview with her mom Tina Douglas where they dished on the best advice she ever received and the women in the Douglas family. Also see Lark Voorhies from "Saved By The Bell"ad what she looks like now inside.....

For Mother's Day, Tina Douglas sat down with her successful daughter and talked about the long line of strong women in their family and the best advice she ever gave Ashanti.  As for her mom's best advice, "You always taught me to be a leader and not a follower and I remember that from elementary school."

The pair were then joined by baby sister Shia who joined in some hugs and kisses and wished Tina a Happy Mother's Day.

Watch the video here:

And here's a blast from the past.....

Lark Voorhies aka Lisa Turtle from "Saved By The Bell" talked to E!'s Michael Yo about her upcoming projects and revealed that rumors of her dating any of her co-stars (like Zack Morris/Mark-Paul Gosselaar) were untrue. She still looks good, but the lighting is terrible and the funeral home makeup is upsetting. No word on if she has any type of condition affecting her, but I'm glad we've got a Lark update!

UPDATE: F it.  It ain't the lighting.  Something is terribly wrong here and it must be addressed. Whether it's bleaching or plastic surgery gone wrong, ridiculous makeup or some type of condition, you can't just give an interview looking like the real life ghost of the beloved Lisa Turtle and expect everything to be peaches and cream.  We deserve an answer...

Rihanna Hospitalized After Partying at Met Gala

Rihanna Hospitalized After Partying at Met Gala

Are Rihanna's extra-curricular activities becoming a hazard to her health? After partying the night away in high fashion at the Costume Institute Gala at New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art, the pop singer was rushed to the ER and hospitalized. The day after the event, she tweeted a photo of her arm hooked up to an IV drip. What happened to Rihanna between the red carpet and the hospital bed?

According to Entertainment Tonight, the culprit is a lingering case of the flu.

"[Rihanna] had a fever and flu since last week and needed an IV but is fine now," a source told the show.

As Us Weekly points out, the singer was sick at last week's Saturday Night Live performance, causing her to miss rehearsal the day before. On Sunday, she tweeted, "Phuck bein sick!"

Some media outlets have expressed concern that Rihanna isn't just sick, but partying too hard. A Star magazine source describes the her as "really out of control," claiming that Rihanna is "drinking almost every day and talking about smoking weed a lot, too."

Adds the source: "Everyone is telling her to slow down and think about therapy, or even rehab."

The "Where Have You Been" singer isn't doing much to dispel the rumors, either. In the past few weeks, she's raised eyebrows by tweeting photos of herself partying with strippers, and cutting up what appeared to be cocaine (but may have been marijuana) on a man's bald head at Coachella.

Professionally, Rihanna is at the height of her game (and she looks amazing, too). Hopefully she's dialing back the partying after her hospital excursion; we'd hate to see her sabotage her own success with one too many late nights.

What would the be without appearances from some of the summer's biggest stars? A lot less interesting, probably.

Thankfully, Wednesday (May 9) MTV announced that the first lineup of presenters would come from four of the season's most anticipated blockbusters, "The Amazing Spider-Man," "Snow White and the Huntsman," "Prometheus" and "Ted."

Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield, Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg will all be on hand on Sunday, June 3, to hand out the Golden Popcorn statuettes.

For the 21st edition of the show, the awards are undergoing their biggest shakeup in years. With a new nomination system and new categories like Best Cast, Best Gut-Wrenching Performance and Best On-Screen Transformation, the 2012 MTV Movie Awards promise to be a night to remember.

But not everything has changed. As usual, fans will be able to choose every winner on the big night. Voting in all 12 categories is open through Saturday, June 2, over at MovieAwards.MTV.com. It's up to you to decide who goes onstage to collect their Golden Popcorn.

The night's contenders are some of the year's biggest blockbusters, so competition is sure to be fierce. "The Hunger Games" and "Bridesmaids" lead the field with eight nominations apiece, with "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" and "21 Jump Street" right behind them with six nods. Could this finally be the year that "Harry Potter" takes home Best Movie, or are the odds in favor of "The Hunger Games"?

The MTV Movie Awards will air live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, on Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
